La conférence AAPA Latino 2021 s'est déroulée du 29 novembre au 1er décembre à Carthagène, en Colombie. Il s'agit de l'un des événements phares du segment portuaire en Amérique latine, avec une fois de plus des records de fréquentation.
UN ÉVÉNEMENT CLÉ DANS LE SECTEUR PORTUAIRE
Ce 25e Congrès portuaire latino-américain s'est déroulé à l'hôtel Hilton de Carthagène et était un événement hybride, se déroulant à la fois sur place et en ligne. Cette décision a été prise pour s'assurer que le Covid-19 n'obligerait personne à manquer cette industrie annuelle par excellence, qui dominait l'agenda maritime-portuaire 2022. Les personnalités les plus représentatives du segment portuaire étaient présentes pendant les trois jours, faisant des présentations et parlant des projets et défis actuels et futurs de l'industrie.
Also present were the most powerful companies from the port services sector, such as Prosertek, promoting their solutions at the fair stands. An exhibition space that once again represented a great opportunity for anyone wishing to successfully enter the Latin American market and grow a port business there.
L'intense programme de mise en réseau a également fait de ce salon l'endroit idéal pour conclure des accords commerciaux portuaires en Amérique latine. L'organisation estime qu'il y a eu plus de 250 opportunités d'affaires cette année.

The fair was thematically structured through the presentation of the study "Great challenges for ports in the post-pandemic period", prepared by Ricardo Sánchez, Senior Economic Affairs Officer, International Trade and Integration Division of ECLAC.
Ce document parlait des ports comme étant des industries à valeur ajoutée-de plus en plus technologique, exerçant une influence sur la chaîne d'approvisionnement et une contribution majeure au développement économique des nations.
According to Sánchez, ports must intensify their efforts "to change the way society perceives this industry" while also investing in their relationship with the urban environment, with companies, with the state and with workers as a way of coping with future challenges, which were grouped as follows:

Other conferences focused on the second and third days of the conference and addressed the recovery of the post-pandemic sector, investments and projects in Latin America, challenges for competitiveness in the region, the challenges of logistics in the Caribbean and radiography of the cruise industry, as well as many other matters that concern the port industry in general and the Latin American ports in particular.
Un accent particulier a également été mis sur des questions extrêmement pertinentes pour le secteur, telles que la transformation numérique et l'influence de l'industrie portuaire dans les objectifs de développement durable de l'ONU -.
La réunion s'est terminée par une visite technique du port de Carthagène (Colombie), pour permettre aux participants d'avoir une connaissance-de première main de la situation et des besoins des ports de la région.
